Treatments in detail
Dental implants are titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone to replace the root of a missing tooth. They provide a stable foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture, restoring both function and appearance.
Mr Farook assesses each patient individually to ensure they are a suitable candidate for implants. Where bone volume is insufficient, bone grafting can be performed in advance of or alongside implant placement.
Impacted or infected wisdom teeth are one of the most common reasons for referral to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Impacted wisdom teeth may cause pain, swelling, infection, damage to adjacent teeth, or cysts.
Mr Farook performs surgical removal of impacted, buried, and infected wisdom teeth under local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia, depending on complexity. He tailors the approach to each patient for safe, effective removal with minimal recovery time.
The temporomandibular joint connects the jaw to the skull. TMJ disorders can cause jaw pain, clicking, limited mouth opening, headaches, and facial discomfort. In many cases, conservative management is effective, but surgical intervention may be required for persistent or structural problems.
Mr Farook assesses and manages TMJ disorders with a full range of treatment options from splints and physiotherapy to arthrocentesis, arthroscopy, and open joint surgery.
